BACKGROUND AND LORE
Demetrius was expected to become a mercenary due to his strong stature and sturdy form. However, his bright mind eventually made itself apparent enough to be allowed into Sharlayan's schools. However, once they decided to cut themselves off from the world, Demetrius decided to return to his home of Ul'dah and use his healing prowess to garner work as an adventurer.With Sharlayan's borders reopened, Demetrius was allowed to return and even permitted to teach supplementary magic courses.

Demetrius is a rather shy individual, but can be rather sassy once comfortable with those he has befriended. He is also known for his impressive clumsiness. While he is rather dependable and his body allows for quick recovery, it's not uncommon to see him in strangely precarious situations and attempting to pretend they never happened.
This is also why he typically refrains from dancing in public unless specifically requested.

Demetrius has always had an affinity for the less common light and dark aspects of aether. Attention wasn't truly called to this fact until he was mistakenly pulled into the Thirteenth reflection. While most others corrupt and become fully voidsent due to prolonged exposure to pure darkness, Demetrius' curiously resilient form and affinity for both the light and dark allowed a "seed" of the void to form within him.A similar interaction happened on the First; this "seed" taking the form of light. Both eventually grew into replicas of Demetrius; each one having corrupted versions of his personality, with light being cold and dark being uninhibited. Demetrius eventually learns to control and even harness their power, but questions what allows this different reaction to the "corruption".
